Cheek Enlargement Plastic Surgery in Hollywood, Florida

The following information is for your benefit. Here you will find answers to many of the questions that patients ask about Cheek Implants:

WHY SHOULD I HAVE CHEEK IMPLANT SURGERY?

If you have small or significantly reduced cheek tissue and cheekbone contour as an inherited characteristic or as a result of aging, or if you desire and need more prominent cheek contour to achieve facial symmetry cheek implants may be the answer you are seeking.

WHAT IS THE INTENDED RESULT OF CHEEK IMPLANT SURGERY?

Following cheek implant surgery you should expect enhanced cheek contours, greater facial balance, and improved symmetry.

DOES CHEEK IMPLANT SURGERY REQUIRE HOSPITALIZATION?

No. The cheek enlargement procedure is done on an outpatient basis under attended local or general anesthesia.

HOW IS THE CHEEK PLASTIC SURGERY PROCEDURE PERFORMED?

A small incision is made in one of several optional locations: either under the upper lip, in the lower eyelid, or in the hairline, and a biologically inert, preshaped implant is placed next to the bone. A correctly shaped implant is inserted over the natural cheekbone contour. It will be held in place by the normal surrounding tissues. The selection of incision will be discussed at the time of consultation.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT AFTER CHEEK SURGERY?

There are usually no dressings following cheek implant surgery. Initial swelling is usually moderate and gradually disappears over a month or two. Discomfort is mild to moderate and is controlled with oral medications. Sutures in the mouth dissolve and do not need to be removed. Sutures under the eyelid are removed in 4-5 days. Suture or staples in the scalp are removed in approximately 10 days.
